Private Amorose lands in deep water on D-Day

82nd Airborne paratrooper Private Amorose jumped out of a C-47 and landed on a brick wall in Sicily. He got by on his injured knee for several days before being evacuated to a hospital ship. When he jumped into Normandy on D-Day, he was certain he was going to drown.
